COMBERTON VILLAGE HALL MAINTENANCE MANAGER - JOB DESCRIPTION
The trustees of Comberton village hall are looking to employ a part-time Maintenance Manager to assist the volunteer trustees with the regular upkeep of the hall. This is a paid role with an hourly rate reflecting the time spent although we envisage the time commitment to be around 20-30 hours per month or to suit, with flexibility when required. You will be given full training and have the ongoing support of the trustees.
This job would suit a stay-at-home parent or a recently retired person looking for a few hours of work per week which can largely be fitted around existing commitments but there is a need to be flexible, particularly regarding urgent faults.
Duties will include:
Carry out regular checks on the village hall buildings and site.
Undertake minor repairs/redecoration and maintenance of hedges/shrubs. Contact professional tradespeople where required.
Very occasional emergency call-outs to repair urgent defects.
Skills/Personal Qualities
Good understanding of building structures and associated services
Ability to recognise and identify faults/defects and undertake basic maintenance repairs to a good standard
Committed and reliable
Good communicator
Friendly
Available/flexible
This is an important role in the building which sits at the heart of our community. The trustees are very friendly, committed and supportive and have been carrying out these duties themselves for many years so there are experienced people on hand to offer advice and support. If you would like to obtain more details or to apply, please contact the Chairman Penny Cook on 07517 917958 or [email protected].
